Red Light Cameras Again Prove Ineffective and Dangerous: Accidents Increase 133% in Temple Terrace, FL

Red Light Camera Accident

Red Light Camera Accident

It’s no surprise to those of us at CameraFraud, but councilman Halloway of Temple Terrace, FL was shocked on Friday to hear that accidents INCREASED at red light camera intersections in his city, according to ABC News. Halloway had fallen for ATS’ slick sales fantasy of safety and profits and didn’t want to believe the news that could jeopardize the city’s cash cow, “That’s nonsense. Where are you getting your data?” City Councilor Ken Halloway asked. After being shown the data from the city, he still didn’t want to accept the harsh reality, “That doesn’t sound right to me.”

Believe it councilman, your city is just one on the growing list of cities where red light cameras have been proven to be deadly and dangerous:

What do these cities all have in common? They all have what is referred to as “infomercial syndrome.” The city councils were mesmerized by the incredible claims and smooth presentation… increased safety… easy money… won’t cost you anything… we take care of everything. It’s so easy! Act Now! And just like the consumer who bought an Ab Roller expecting amazing results, these cities are realizing that the claims are all bogus. In reality, the answers are simple, but they are the answers that no one wants to hear. The person who bought the Ab Roller really just needs a trainer and a gym membership. The cities that bought red light cameras need to order an honest traffic engineering study for each problem location and listen the advice of true unbiased professionals who will most likely recommend that yellow light timing be increased.

Very well-written article, it says what I have been saying for a long time, but in better context. Our village council has been batting around the red light camera ticketing medicine ball the better part of a year now. Everytime they bring it up I seem to be there requesting time to ” ask a few questions” the council members never quite seem to have the answers to. This causes communial embarassment and the proposition gets postponed. I also make sure the council members and the police chief get 3-4 e-mails each showing the true colors of RLTC, it’s not like green green money, but shades of reddened embarassment. May I send your piece to them in furtherence of my ressistance efforts?

That sentance should have read 3-4 e-mails each week. Small iPhone keys.

  4. Barnet Fagel says:

Great video, if I may a suggestion to RPr to preface his video with a written or voice explanation of what the viewer is about to see, I’ve made the same mistake myself you want to see it just Google “MrBFagel” you’ll see video evidence of Chicago’s Shortie Yellows. Enjoy.
And as far as Logic is concerned, his grasp of the facts will never exceed his blindness of the truth.

    Hey Barnet,

It is nice to see you here.

    • Steve says:

after we get the cameras out of AZ, we should then get the people who voted for those cameras out of office.

Its going to be funny to see them flip flop on the issue. They have to be sweating now hahaha

It is a good article and it does highlight a real problem area in relation to this issue. The sad fact is that it is VERY difficult to find a truly unbiased professional opinion. Oh, there are lots of people who CLAIM to be unbiased – like the “academics” whose snouts are firmly lodged in the trough of photo enforcement revenue. Or the local council traffic engineers for whom photo enforcement offers not only an avalanche of cash, but an easy way out (We don’t need to do the “hard yards” of re-engineering the roads, we’re “seen to do something” by putting in scameras.”) As is so often the case on the issue, Australia represents the “end game” – with a very nasty malignancy called the “Road Safety Industry” consisting of Government, over-zealous cops, greedy academics, local councils and anti-car wingnut groups… All parasitically feeding off of the scamera revenue stream and all hellbent on rendering the motor vehicle non-viable as a means of transport…
