Photo Enforcement Related Racism? Video Released

September 22, 2008 has released a video (see on Youtube) provided by an east-valley family which alleges possible racism on the part of a process server who was apparently trying to serve a Redflex-generated photo enforcement citation. (Technical Note: Youtube butchered the quality of the video. We’ll try to get the higher resolution version uploaded ASAP.)

The family, some of whom are veterans of the United States Armed Forces, contacted after the incident was captured. The video shows a process server exiting his vehicle to throw an unidentified piece of crumpled paper on the ground. The man returns to a burgundy-colored vehicle which lurches forward (and possibly towards a child in the street.)  The man is heard yelling a racial slur as he sped off down a residential drive. issued the the following statement on Friday:

“Just in the past six months, private photo enforcement companies have been found to violate state laws repeatedly. As if the recent arrest of a drunk photo radar van driver wasn’t enough of an insult to the people of Arizona, now it looks like Redflex and their associated companies may be using racist intimidation methods,” said a volunteer in a prepared statement. has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday to address the revelation of the video. Members of the community are welcome to attend and express their support for the family involved in this incident. (Please RSVP on our Meetup site).

Deceit, Dollars, and Disgruntled Employees…

August 27, 2008

…Oh my!

I’m a firm believer in the “law of unintended consequences.” One “unintended consequence” of’s recent launch was the downright flood of emails we received from current and former disgruntled employees of Redflex and ATS.

Apparently the two “leading” scam cam vendors are having a hard time keeping their own employees on their side. One gentleman who works for ATS was complaining about making only $13 an hour for his role in operating one of Scottsdale’s mobile van units. Someone claiming to work for Redflex writes in, saying that internal management is downright-Reich-like (say THAT ten times fast).

Anyways, keep up the emails guys. We enjoy hearing from you too.
