    Bullhead City:

An agenda item called for the council to receive an update from city staff regarding a possible agreement with Redflex Traffic Systems, Inc. to establish a photo red light enforcement program. Medrano suggested council members go into executive session to discuss “new information.” After the executive session, the council voted to table the item until date to be determined. “I think we have enough information to kill the contract (with Redflex),” Medrano told the Daily News. He said he was unable to elaborate on the nature of the information, other than to say other council members don’t agree with his position and are seeking more information.

If someone is breaking the law by speeding, why does it matter if it is a camera or a police officer finding the offender? City budgets are tight and cannot hire more cops for sometime – I don’t get speeding tickets, so I don’t see the problem.

BillyBob, what if the cop was paid on commission, lied about how fast you were going just to line his/her pockets, and you had no way to defend yourself because the court was inclined to believe police officers (because they get a slice of the pie too)?

This is a legitimate “what if.” I’m not trying to start a fight, I’m trying to start a discussion.

    • Sounds like you have a lot of research to do on this topic. Good luck and have fun.
