Warms my heart…..let’s hope those bastards in the House pass it WHEN it makes it there as well. I’m sure old Jan Brewer will probably sign this bill into law.

  2. Stacey says:

Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard on this. Thanks to you guys who stayed for 12 hours today. Thanks to the senators too.

Watch out for Redflex’ latest attempt to fool the public into thinking their devices improve safety.

The scenario described causes very few accidents. It’s just as safe to enter an intersection .2 seconds into a red light as it is .2 seconds before a red light (cross traffic doesn’t even have a green light at that point). A study showed that most fatal collisions happen at least 5 seconds and on average 9 seconds into a red light. This system does not appear to be effective in these scenarios. But Redflex will get a lot of PR and publicity from this…

  6. Redflex also tried to cut some sort of a lame and improbable deal to lower the fine amounts to $50 in exchange for scrapping this bill.

    1. They’re scared and desperate

    2. It’s preposterous to think they could alter the deals already in place with the cities that send money to various state agencies. Not to mention that ATS would have to go along with the deal too. What a joke!

  7. Man-In-Black says:

Glad to here the positive outcome. I was trying to get the video to work. Finally got it working after the vote on the bill.

I should have an online system soon to send Emails to the entire (part of them at at time) AZ Legislature to support the bill.

  8. Doc says:

Mrs. Sinema was absent. O.k., but who was the ONE descenting vote? We need to contact him/her, & rationally discuss this with her. There’s absolutely no way ANY legislator can justify this unconstitutional tax in these economic times.

    Redflex new camera system

MARYSVILLE, CA – The city of Marysville is about to take red light cameras to the next level: Instead of just punishing offenders, a new system may actually prevent innocent drivers from being hit by them.

Redflex Traffic Systems, which operates most of the red light cameras in California, received approval from the Marysville City Council Tuesday to install a so-called “collision preemption” system at one of the intersections that already has red light cameras.

Redflex spokesman Scott Lightman said he believes it’s the first of its kind in the United States.

The system will sense when a driver is trying unsuccessfully to beat a yellow light and will prevent the red light on the cross street from turning green until the offending vehicle has passed safely through the intersection.

    More TSA Thuggery

A suspected drug mule robbed of nearly $40,000 in cash by two TSA agents at JFK Airport has gone missing in Argentina — and authorities fear she may have been murdered because she lost the money, The Post has learned.

“We’ve come up empty [in our search for her],” a law-enforcement source said yesterday. “We’re concerned about her welfare.”

The woman, 35, checked a bag containing at least $170,000 before boarding a Buenos Aires-bound flight on Jan. 30.

But Transportation Security Administration agent Persad Coumar, 44, spotted the cash during an X-ray screening and alerted agent Davon Webb, who helped him swipe nearly a quarter of it, authorities said. Webb was caught on video surveillance cameras “conducting a drawn-out search” of the bag before the money disappeared, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.

Armed Agent Slips Past DFW Body Scanner
An undercover TSA agent was able to get thro
ugh security at DFW International Airport with a handgun during testing of the enhanced imaging body scanners, according to a high-ranking, inside source at the Transportation Security Administration.

The source inside the TSA told NBCDFW that the undercover agent actually carried a pistol in her undergarments as she put the body scanners to the test.

The TSA insider said the undercover officer successfully made it through the airport’s body scanners every time she tried.

You guys seem to be the experts…what does this mean to say, myself who was just issued 2 photo radar tickets in the mail today 2/18/11. Yes, I got 2 citations from the city of Scottsdale for speeding at McDowell/Hayden and McDowell/Scottsdale rd. Two photo radar tickets with 40 seconds of each other. For 11 mph over.

I am a stay at home mom with two toddlers, and a new baby in 11 weeks. My 120 days will be up by May 22, 2011. Do I just wait it out and see if I get served? If the bill passes before May 22, 2011 will my ticket be thrown out anyways??

I appreciate any and all info you can help me with.

    • photoradarscam says:

The bill will only stop NEW tickets, you will have to deal with your tickets *IF* you get served. Scottsdale will probably succeed in serving you. What you can do is if you know all right right things to say, is to file a motion to dismiss due to lack of personal jurisdiction since you haven’t been served. If you aren’t comfortable with this, you can contact Michael at krelegal.com and he can do it for you.
