New Mexico Transporation Commision bans cams; Governor Agrees

So how is it that New Mexico’s leadership sees the pitfalls and corruption of automated ticketing, and yet our very similar state’s leadership does not?

I think we need to take a closer look at who benefits here in Arizona from Automated Ticketing.

“and yet our very similar state’s leadership does not?”
    Probable reasons:

    1) New Mexico didn’t start collecting MILLIONS from a state-wide speed camera program, getting them hooked on “the junk”, which includes special little goodies like the $16.50 per ticket donation into the ironically-named “CLEAN Elections Fund”.

    2) New Mexico isn’t in the financial hole Arizona is in, tempting lawmakers (and certain law officer unions) into whoring themselves out for cash. It’s more politically viable to screw “the guy that cut you off last week” than to cut little Johnny’s all-day K. Come on – THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!

    3) Soothe-saying, corporate stooges like Jay Heiler aren’t in the New Mexico governor’s ear.

    4) (anecdotally speaking) – New Mexico drivers are generally better drivers (at least they think so…) Ask a New Mexico native how he feels about AZ drivers sometime… 🙂

    And the most likely reason:

    5) The politicians haven’t shoved their heads up their butts (which are doing so to hide from those criminal speeders) as far as the pro-camera politicians have in Arizona…

      You put that so nicely. The reasons I would’ve come up with are 1) $Money$, 2) $Cash$, 3) $Revenue$, 4) $Income$, & 5) $Profit$

  9. Thanks for everyone’s support last night at Ignite Phoenix! That format puts an incredible amount of pressure on the presenter. Being slotted 16 out of 18 left so much time for nerves to build up, but everything turned out great in the end.

My only wish was that it would help our cause and based on the reaction, it really did!

Thanks especially to Wes, Shawn, Walter, Todd, Drew, Dee, Brent, Robert, Joe, Chris, Stacey and Noelle
