Awesome Picture! Sorry I could not be there! My sign would have said cameras=surveillance
    Say No to surveilance!

  2. David Kelley says:

Get rid of Tempe cameras to!!!!!!!!!

  3. Bob says:

Quit griping. If a posted speed limit is signed, drive it! There’s a reason for speed limits. Do it and what’s your problem!

  4. Chuck says:

I think photo radar is here to stay, but they should only be used for those driving over 20 mph over the posted speed limit.

  5. jim says:

i think the speed limits on the freeways are to slow in most places to start out with and all the lane cops(people who think they need to control the flow of traffic by driving slow in the left lane) need to realize that driving a vehichle is an inherently dangerous activity and they dont need to try and control traffic it then it is them contributing to unsafe conditions on the freeway if u just let the people that are comfortable driving a little faster get by you u probably will never have to see them again instead of getting upset and trying to keep them behind you.

Heard about this on the radio this morning. I’m signing up and passing the word.

Studies show that something like 70% of all tickets issued by photo radar and red light cameras are issued for that 1mph or last tenth of a second. If cities were to increase the limits for the cameras by just 1mph or the length of the yellow light by a tenth of a second, they’d see massive reductions in the number of violations.

It is easier for them to ride out on the noble, white horse that is safety than it is the familiar, black nag of greed and inefficiency. If they were truly interested in safety, they would consider something that doesn’t result in flashing lights into the faces of motorists in the night. (Infrared, perhaps?)

There is something we can do about it and it’s very simple. Get a Prop on the ballot to ban the use of photo radar devices. People need to realize they have pwoer to change laws they are not happy with. I see that is in the works, just focus your energy on that.

Go through the correct route, get the signatures…that is going to be a piece of cake. Set up at the big Malls over the Holidays, hit Suns, Dbacks, Coyotes and ASU games.

Cameras are not a safety device and in fact make the roads more dangerous, specifically at night. Also for the people that say not to speed, speed is not what causes accidents. It is the speed differential between cars, the cameras cause people to slow down and/or slam on their brakes creating much more dangerous situation.

  8. Ross from Redflex says:

All the people against photo radar make logical arguments, but the fact remains that these devices are for the children. All the money that goes to Australia really improves the lives of Aussie kids and ensures that they have way better schools that this dusty state.

My advice: Keep speeding and paying those tickets. The cameras are always right and so is your state government.

  9. KL says:

If I wasn’t at work – I would be there for sure!!!!

  11. Karen Finley says:

I was scared of the mean looking people with foam signs. You might have seen me driving off into the sunset in the passenger side of a security vehicle. If we get flashed on the way home, atleast I don’t have to pay it. Heck, we’re the ones that send the tickets after all. It sure is nice to have immunity from the scam we’re pulling. HEEE HEEE suckers !!

  12. Coworker says:

    hahahahaaaaaaaaaa………

    You rock Shoba:)

  13. Shoba says:

Karen! Hey babe! You are such a wimp. I can’t believe you had to be escorted away.
I had to walk home (I locked my keys in my truck). Don’t tell anyone. It’s kind of embarrassing.

Thanks for hiring me, Karen. This job is almost as fun as war profiteering ( I used to do PR for Halliburton)!

Well I need to get going. It’s TV dinner night!

  14. RPrr says:

Hey why are you taking my comments down? I thought this was free speech man. What gives

  15. RPr says:

Stop trying to impersonate me dude, that’s not cool

  16. Chris says:

Is there an online petition to get these cameras pulled? If not, please set one up. These needs to hit the ballots!
Thanks for taking charge and fighting for the people!
