Stationery on Stationary Cameras Irritates DPS

The onslaught of Post It notes on photo scam cams has lead DPS to assign an investigator to “determine who is obstructing speed-enforcement cameras on Valley freeways.”

“DPS officials say the acts of vandalism are attempts to prevent speeders from being ticketed.”

Vandalism?

Wikipedia defines vandalism as: “the behaviour attributed to the Vandals in respect of culture: ruthless destruction or spoiling of anything beautiful or venerable. Such action includes criminal damage, defacement, graffiti and crass erection of an eyesore.”

Crass erection of an eyesore? Sounds like the cameras themselves.

If DPS thinks that putting 1 DPS officer on ‘finding the vandal’ is going to stop this person, then they really arent taking this very seriously. It would take a large team of DPS officers to stake-out and find the person/persons that are doing this. I wouldnt put any money on DPS finding anything other than more post-it notes and silly string. And the Gov actually complains about Sheriff Joe not enforcing warrants that are on the books (which he does)!? Yeah Nappy, go ahead and stick a DPS officer on the post-it note issue, Im sure youll get your man soon. NOT. You want good law enforcement? Put that DPS officer on the highways and let him actually do what he was hired to do…..write tickets and save lives on the freeways, not look for post-it notes……leave that up to the real cops?

Let’s get some definitions here to seperate lies from DPS Vs. THE TRUTH.

Obstructing gov’t operations huh, criminal damage, or interfering with an “Official traffic control device.”

    13-2402. Obstructing governmental operations; classification

    A. A person commits obstructing governmental operations if, by using or threatening to use violence or physical force, such person knowingly obstructs, impairs or hinders:

    1. The performance of a governmental function by a public servant acting under color of his official authority; or

    2. The enforcement of the penal law or the preservation of the peace by a peace officer acting under color of his official authority.

    B. This section does not apply to the obstruction, impairment or hinderance of the making of an arrest.

    C. Obstructing governmental operations is a class 1 misdemeanor.

    OK, AND Crimianal Damage.
    13-1602. Criminal damage; classification

    A. A person commits criminal damage by recklessly:

    1. Defacing or damaging property of another person; or

    2. Tampering with property of another person so as substantially to impair its function or value; or

    3. Tampering with the property of a utility.

    4. Parking any vehicle in such a manner as to deprive livestock of access to the only reasonably available water.

    5. Drawing or inscribing a message, slogan, sign or symbol that is made on any public or private building, structure or surface, except the ground, and that is made without permission of the owner.

    B. Criminal damage is punished as follows:

    1. Criminal damage is a class 4 felony if the person recklessly damages property of another in an amount of ten thousand dollars or more, or if the person recklessly causes impairment of the functioning of any utility.

    2. Criminal damage is a class 5 felony if the person recklessly damages property of another in an amount of two thousand dollars or more but less than ten thousand dollars.

    3. Criminal damage is a class 6 felony if the person recklessly damages property of another in an amount of more than two hundred fifty dollars but less than two thousand dollars.

    4. In all other cases criminal damage is a class 2 misdemeanor.

AND, interfering with an “Official Traffic Control Device.”
28-649. Interference with official traffic control device or railroad sign or signal; possession of traffic preemption emitter; classification; definition

    A. A person shall not attempt without lawful authority to or in fact alter, deface, injure, knock down or remove an official traffic control device, a railroad sign or signal or an inscription, shield or insignia on any device, sign or signal or any part of the device, sign or signal.

  3. Don’t count on the law or your rights to protect you. They will charge you and almost certainly convict you of whatever they wish. What the law actually says is not relevant.

Your arrest and trial shall be most public, because they wish to discourage anyone from mimicking this opposition to their plans. I would expect at least a half million dollars in bail. They do this the way governments have always discouraged opposition — with terror. Public terror.

I am certain a press release went out Weds. or this morning because I heard this reported on the news radio this morning by the government flacks who proudly call themselves the unbiased mainstream media.

  4. ScameraActivist says:

Read those definitions closely, and ask yourself the following.

First, in obstructing gov’t operations. One has to use OR threaten to use physical force or violence for this statute to apply. One also has to impair or hinder the function of a peace officer or public servant. Is A FUCKING BOX a public servant or peace officer? Didn’t think so.

Second, under criminal damage the only definition which comes close to applying is “Tampering with property of another person so as substantially impair its function or value.” Putting post it notes and silly string on a camera comes close to this definition, as it could possibly impair a cameras function or value. However, it says the property of “another person.” Is a foreign owned private corporation a “PERSON.” If so, this means that the “Person” who was victimized should file a lawsuit, namely Redflex. Since the State of Arizona is not a “Person”, how could they charge the perpetrator with such crimes. How are they “Damaged.” Oh, that’s right !!! They are damaged in the pocketbook.

Let’s go onto traffic control device. Consult the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for these definitions. Under the A.R.S. codes, it states to refer to Federal Guidelines for more precise definitions. According to one traffic engineer, Photo enforcement cameras are “No more a traffic control device than a cops radar gun.” They do not control the flow of traffic, so they are not a “Traffic Control Device.” They are a traffic enforcement device.

LIES, LIES, LIES, and MORE LIES. FEAR, FEAR, FEAR.

  5. A. A person commits criminal damage by recklessly:

    5. Drawing or inscribing a message, slogan, sign or symbol that is made on any public or private building, structure or surface, except the ground, and that is made without permission of the owner.

    B. Criminal damage is punished as follows:

    4. In all other cases criminal damage is a class 2 misdemeanor.

“DPS officials say the acts of vandalism are attempts to prevent speeders from being ticketed.”

uhhhhhhh, I think the acts were to prevent Redflex from pick pocketing the good people of Arizona through a cleaver form of extorsion!

    It’s all fraud!

  8. 5. Drawing or inscribing a message, slogan, sign or symbol

Of course neither a blank post it note, nor spraying silly string constitutes a message, slogan, sign or symbol under this law. One could say the notes or string are a message, but they would not be drawn or inscribed.

But as I said earlier, they are pissed at your effrontery (whomever you are) to opposing their plans and the laws are for you to follow, not “them.” So they will get you and convict you on whatever suits them. You will be made example of…they have no choice unless you inspire others with your boldness to ignore and oppose them.

  9. Scott says:

Unfortunately, the brillance of the “message” may not prevent your public
execution by these jack booted agents of the state. 😦

  10. Ross says:

Nothing like a little Civil Disobedience to get a point across. We need to start a PAC.

  11. Patrick says:

The title should be ‘Stationery on Stationary Cameras Irritates DPS.’

I heard gradually glazing lenses with hairspray was how the Brits do it.

  12. Stop Fraud says:

Facist is right. Whoever gets caught doing these Post-It notes and silly string will likely be made an example of by DPS, forced by Napalitano. Thats why CameraFraud and its supporters/volunteers should never advocate for the breaking of the law, to include defacing or obstructing a camera. This is still the USA, and we have avenues of redress to our governments…use them. You get a CF member breaking the law, youre going to lose any credibilty you hope to gain.

  13. Evapilot says:

To whomever is doing this…first…THANKS!! You are true….REAL Americans. Second…I hope when you go out and do this justice onto this state’s fascist regime, that you at least wear gloves and some sort of facial cover (mask) I know they state that the cameras record video 24/7….so you can never be more safe than sorry. Please…keep it up, and keep up the pace in frusterating the stupid fascist regime of this pathetic state!!

  14. Jim Davidson says:

“Crass erection of an eyesore.” That works so well on so many levels. Thanks for all your work in fighting this stuff. Make the government do something useful if it is going to get any money.

And, no, I don’t have any idea what they could do that would be useful and couldn’t be better done privately. Thinking…

  15. Matt Sherman says:

    BeCareful!!!

FYI—digital cameras and phones embed its serial # into all pictures taken with that camera.

Happy hunting my fellow American Patriots!

    Long live our Liberties!

Civil Disobediance is your voice, for those who do not listen to your vote.

  16. Scotty says:

Not only are the camera’s a SCAM!!! They are also VERY dangerous to people driving on the freeways. Next time your driving on the freeway, and come up on the camera’s, watch almost everyone, hit the brakes, even, if they are going the speed limit. Then everyone speeds up again until the next set of camera’s come up, and then everyone does it again!! This wastes fuel, makes more pollution, as well as causing wrecks!!! Today coming to work on I-17 after Bell Rd., The camera there did cause a wreck about 3:15. Five cars collided, all rear ending each other to slow down for the camera, and at least 2 vehicles looked totalled!. I hope no one was hurt bad!! I am glad that Janet is on her way out, and hopefully get a governor with some common sense. Get officers on the highways and people will slow down!!!
